Notes on directions
Important note: please do avoid Aksaray under any circumstances. Especially at night. Aksaray is a no-go area!
Q: Do you buy tickets on board or at the station? Where to buy tickets?
A: You buy the tickets on the station. A ticket is called "jeton" - plastic coins, that cost 1,50 TL (about 0,80 €)
Q: Do we have just one "jeton" for both lines or do you need two?
A: Each line is one "jeton". Some public transportation systems call it zones.
Q: What is the best place to get TL before buying a ticket or do they take Euros?
A: We will provide you with a starter packet on the airport. After that you should change your money near our hotel. Do not change your money at the airport or in your home country, because you get better rates in Istanbul.
Q: How long does the train ride take?
A: The ride will take about 35 minutes
Q: Is it possible to pay in Euro?
A: You can pay with Euro in cabs, but take care in advance about the changing rate. Expect quite basic English skills of the cab drivers.
Q: Why not take a cab?
A: The traffic situation during the day is so bad, that it makes no sense to pay 30 TL (15 Euros) and taking a ride of 1.5 hours or even more.

We will have a drop-in place for dinner in clusters. We have an agreement with the Zurich Hotel Restaurant to drop in to their terrace restaurant starting at 18:00. We have special prices on the food - beverage is normal price, though. You have a small business card of Zurich Hotel with directions. Hint: also watch for the seal.
