General

MariaDB 5.2 will be an interim release before MariaDB 5.3. The idea is that all 'safe and tested patches' are added to MariaDB 5.2. This should keep the MariaDB 5.2 as 'close to production ready' at all time and allows us to quickly make a RC version of it as soon as 5.2 is stable.

• We should drive community to use this branch
• 'GA' within this year, after which we can stop supporting MariaDB 5.1
• Only small 'stable' features
• Safe community patches
• Should be drop in replacement of MariaDB 5.1 (no incompatibilities)
• MySQL 5.1 updates

• userstatv2 patch from Percona. See: Manual:Userstat
• MWL:36 Add a mysqlbinlog option to change the used database
• Virtual columns patch (Contribution)
• Maria storage engine group commit.
• MWL:98 mysql services for plugins
• MWL:88 Fix the packaging scripts
